Group Tours

The Marietta History Center (MHC) offers group tours for student, adult, and senior groups of 10 or more people.

Pricing for tours does vary.

Guided tours are $10 per person regardless of age. Guided tours MUST be booked in advance with at least one week of notice.

Self-Guided tours follow our regular admission prices. We do not offer discounts for groups.

Student tours are based on curriculum standards of Georgia schools. Therefore, we cover important history topics in detail for the students. Our most frequent field trip groups are 4th, 5th and 8th graders. Please see information below regarding our field trip details.

Our adult group tours are based on the artifacts in the galleries and are more diverse than school tours. However, we can tailor our tour to fit your interests. Tours at the MHC last one hour and can accommodate up to 30 children at a time. If you would like to schedule a tour, please contact us at 770-794-5710.

Details of a Kennesaw House tour:

Because the Kennesaw House is not a large facility, many groups opt to bring two or three classes at once and divide the large group in half, sending half the group to the MHC and the other half to the Root House (770-426-4982) or another nearby attraction  After the hour tour is completed, the two groups walk to the other location and then continue their tour. A sample itinerary for a large group planning to tour both the MHC and the Root House is below.

  • 10:00 First tours begin (half of group at Root House and half at MHC)
  • 11:00 Groups walk to second tour
  • 11:15 Second tours begin
  • 12:15 Groups walk to buses
  • 12:30 Buses leave parking lot for school

*Some groups opt to eat lunch in the park and board buses at 1:30 instead of 12:30.

We suggest 10:00 as the starting time for your first tour. Earlier tours can be booked on request, however, a delay in arrival will result in abbreviated tours.
