Help the Museum’s Collection Grow
The Marietta Museum of History wants to branch out and explore not only Marietta’s history but the history of Cobb County as well. We are looking for donations to our collections that help to tell the many stories of Cobb County. Our focus is from the 1830s to the present day and we need your help in order to accomplish our goal. Here are some of the areas that we are focusing on for donations. Please note that we cannot offer names of appraisers or businesses for any collections donations.
Education in Cobb County: We are looking for anything that relates to life at School past and present this may or may not include the following:
- Spirit Shirts
- Prom/Homecoming/Formal Dresses and Suits
- Athletic Apparel/ Letterman Jackets/ Band Uniforms
- Class Rings/ Graduation Cap and Gowns
- Programs/Announcements/Yearbooks/ Report Cards
- Uniforms from a job
- And anything else that relates to life in School
Working in Cobb County: We are looking for anything that relates to businesses and industries in Cobb County, which may include but are not limited to:
- Documents (i.e. letterhead, business cards, etc.)
- Promotional Items
- Transportation items
Living in Cobb County: We are looking for items related to everyday life in Cobb County, which may include but are not limited to:
- Toys and Games
- Sports Equipment
- Men’s Clothing
- Women’s Clothing
- Children’s Clothing
- Civic Clubs/Organizations

The Museum does not collect items that relate to people, places and events outside of Cobb County. There must a direct connection to Cobb County for items to be considered for the Museum’s collection. Please note that we have strictly limited our collecting of military artifacts to those artifacts related to servicemen and women who were training and/or stationed in Marietta or Cobb County. Also, those who were born and raised in Marietta or Cobb County and enlisted while living here.
